15th Meeting of the European Warriors in Haywards Heath, England
At the 15th Meeeting of the European-Warriors in Haywards Heath, England we had about 30 Warriors participating. Together with wifes and children we were about 40 persons or even more. With us was a large group from Germany, some Warriors from the Netherlands, one Warrior from Belgium and one from Switzerland. To out regret, the number of participants at the meetings in England (as it was 2012) is not so large because especially the Warriors from the eastern Countries like Poland, Slovakia and Hungary are reluctant to make such a long and expensive journey. understandable, because the english Warriors were also reluctant to join us at the 12th meeting in Tihany/Hungary. Anyways, it was a successful meeting again. Dave had picked the location carefully. and old but comfortable traditional hotel with a very good service and good food. Of course not as cheap as the locations at some other meetings..
The offered breakfast was traditional english and the dinner in the evening was good and plentiful.Good luck we also had at the traditional rideout. In contrary to some other meetings it stayed dry to the end and did not rain, although some rain was expected and the rideout was planned for a shorter distance. Unfortunately the weather did not work out so well on the ride form the ferry to the meeting. Andi had picked a splendid route through the midlands ? to avoid the crowded motorway through the greater London area as well as to avoid the heavy traffic on the coastal route from Dover to Hastings.. This led us over small sideroads even some without a center lane , over hills, through wonderful tree-lined alleyways that because of the beginning rain turned awfully dark on the last part of the trip. Anyways, we have reached the hotel after a very long but interesting ride. It took us almost ours instead of the usual 2-3 hours on the coastal route, providing the are not traffic jams and no construction delays. Some other german Warriors who took the motorway were there long before us and already called us at the phone.
Anyways, we were still in time for supper.
The rideout on saturday lead us to a nice observation point.
Some of the germans Warriors felt like having a few more adventures and rode downtown Brighton to the seafront. They all returned back happy and safe.
